Agencies join forces to give young talent the unique opportunity to kick start their career
Led by Brahm and its digital arm swamp, the Sh! Awards provide a unique opportunity for young creative talent to showcase their work in front of some of the most well-known agencies in the industry including Elmwood, Thompson, Iris Associates, B&W Studio, Numiko, Made by Pi and twentysix. Some fantastic prizes are up for grabs, including a six-month paid placement at Brahm. Uniquely, the awards, which are in their seventh year, don't cost anything to enter and there is no extra work to do. Entrants, who are in their second or final year from an HND or degree course in advertising, design or digital in Yorkshire this year, simply need to send in their best pieces of coursework. Says John Morgan, Chief Executive at Brahm: "There is some outstanding new design, digital and advertising talent in Yorkshire's colleges and universities, but all too often, come graduation those designers migrate south in search of work. With no entry fees, and no extra work to do, the Sh! Awards are a unique way to help new designers kick start their career and to keep that talent here in Yorkshire. There have also been a record number of entries submitted this year". Past winners of the Sh! Awards have gone onto work for a number of leading brand names including BT, Horlicks, McCain and Schwarzkopf at leading agencies including Brahm, swamp, Love, Thompson Design, B&W Studio, Elmwood and Interbrand - with one winner even been awarded Designer of the Year at last year's The Drum Awards. The shortlist will be announced shortly with the awards ceremony taking place in Leeds on 25th June. Further details can be found at www.brahm.com/sh |
