Heather Barnett

Heather Barnett 's work incorporates photography digital imaging and installation often working in tandem with scientific processes and imaging systems. Much of her work is collaborative in essence having worked with a diverse range of science professionals including: pathologists, gynecologists, geneticists botanists, geologists and microbiologists. Heather's work is concerned with issues of society technology and identity - with particular reference to medical science interior space and the limits of representation and recognition.
She has worked extensively in areas of biological and imaging systems investigating the role of the individual within institutions and examining the points where art and science merge. Research projects include exploring the creative applications of laboratory processes, the personal impact of surgical loss, physical intimacy and the doctor/patient relationship and microbiology self-portraiture.
